Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Kitchen Manager to lead our culinary team in a fast-paced restaurant environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food service management, with a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences. You will be responsible for overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring food safety standards, and managing staff to maintain high-quality service.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily kitchen operations and ensure smooth workflow in the kitchen.
- Manage food preparation and cooking processes to maintain quality and consistency.
- Implement inventory control measures to minimize waste and ensure stock availability.
- Train, supervise, and develop kitchen staff, fostering a positive team environment.
- Conduct interviews and assist in hiring new kitchen personnel.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen area.
- Manage budgeting and cost control efforts to optimize profitability.
- Utilize POS systems (Aloha POS, Micros POS) for cash handling and order processing.
- Collaborate with front-of-house management to enhance customer service and dining experience.
- Maintain high standards of food production, including catering and banquet services when required.
Skills
- Proven experience in kitchen management within quick service, casual dining, or fine dining establishments.
- Strong culinary skills with a focus on food preparation, cooking techniques, and food handling practices.
- Excellent leadership abilities with experience in team management and staff training & development.
- Knowledge of budgeting practices and inventory control systems within the food industry.
- Familiarity with hospitality management principles and customer service excellence.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Previous experience in restaurant management or supervisory roles is preferred.
