River Park Senior Living is seeking an experienced and compassionate Weekend Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking, enjoy working in a collaborative kitchen, and be committed to serving our residents with delicious, nutritious meals.
As a Cook, you will prepare meals following safe food handling and preparation techniques, ensuring high standards of sanitation and quality.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook meals according to planned menus, dietary needs, and resident preferences.
- Ensure meals are served on time and presented attractively.
- Follow all safety and sanitation regulations in food preparation and storage.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to adjust recipes and accommodate dietary restrictions, including allergies and special diets (e.g., low-sodium, pureed foods).
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas.
- Monitor inventory levels, assist with stocking, and report supply needs.
- Occasionally assist with special events or celebrations requiring unique menus.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Cook, preferably in a healthcare, senior living, or hospitality setting preferred
- Knowledge of dietary guidelines, food safety standards, and kitchen operations.
- Familiarity with cutting tools, cookware, and bakeware
- Knowledge of different cooking methods and procedures
- Ability to follow sanitation and safety guidelines
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- High school diploma or equivalent (Culinary school diploma is a plus)
- ServSafe certification is a bonus
