Category Manager - Professional Services (IT) Denver, CO 80215 Long term contractAs a Category Manager on our Strategic Sourcing team, you'll lead the development and execution of global sourcing strategies for a specific category. You'll partner cross-functionally to optimize supplier performance, reduce costs, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality products and services. Your work will directly impact our ability to scale efficiently and innovate responsibly.
RESPONSIBILITIES - Develop and execute long-term category strategies aligned with business goals.
- Own sourcing, planning, and supplier management for your category.
- Collaborate with teams across IT, HR, Marketing, Sales, Facilities, Supply Chain, and Engineering to identify sourcing and process improvement opportunities.
- Conduct spend analysis to drive cost savings and improve supplier performance.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and legal requirements, including JSOX.
- Manage SAP Master Data and contribute to Sales Inventory and Operations Planning (SIOP).
- Lead RFx processes, evaluate proposals, and select suppliers based on total value.
- Build negotiation strategies and partner with Legal and business leaders to finalize contracts.
- Drive supplier development initiatives, including on-site assessments and continuous improvement efforts.
- Stay current on category trends, cost drivers, global pricing, and supplier market dynamics.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in strategic sourcing, category management, or related field.
- Proficiency in relevant software tools and systems (e.g., SAP, Excel).
- Strong communication, analytical, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
- Experience in continuous improvement environments and cross-functional collaboration.
Preferred Qualifications- Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), or equivalent certification.
- Deep understanding of global supply markets, manufacturing processes, and procurement best practices.
- Experience with RFx processes and contract negotiation.
