The Opportunity
Performance Operations is conducting a search on behalf of our client, a leader in the food processing industry and dedicated to bringing high-quality products from farm to table. The client is in a phase of rapid expansion and looking for a visionary Chief Information Officer (CIO) to lead the digital end of our ongoing evolution.
As CIO, you will not only manage our tech stack but also be a strategic architect. You will bridge the gap between complex food manufacturing, sales and distribution operations, and enterprise-level technology, ensuring our infrastructure is as resilient as our supply chain.
Finally, you will work cross-functionally with peer executives to achieve targeted objectives.
Location

· Travel: Expect to travel 20% of the time on average
Key Responsibilities
· Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute an IT roadmap that supports aggressive company growth, focus on scalability and operational efficiency.
· Digital Transformation: Lead the modernization of our tier 1 Enterprise applications and manufacturing execution systems (MES) to improve real-time data visibility.
· AI: Lead the incorporation of today’s AI tools to improve business productivity and the customer’s experience.
· Supply Chain Optimization: Implement advanced analytics and AI/ML and OT/IT solutions to predict demand, balance supply, reduce waste, and streamline logistics.
· Cybersecurity & Compliance: Ensure the highest standards of data integrity and protection, maintaining compliance with food safety regulations and industry standards.
· Innovation in OT: Explore and integrate IoT, predictive maintenance, and other automation technologies within our processing facilities to drive "Industry 4.0" initiatives.
· Team Development: Mentor and grow a high-performing IT department, fostering a culture of agility and continuous improvement.
The Ideal Candidate
· Experienced: 15+ years in IT leadership, with at least 5 years in a senior executive role in manufacturing and distribution, ideally food processing. Sales systems experience is a plus.
· Tech-Savvy: Deep expertise in Tier 1 ERP migrations (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and cloud infrastructure.
· Business-Minded: Comfortable reporting to a Board of Directors, including understanding financials and working closely with Finance to identify business opportunities and achieve financial objectives. Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business outcomes.
· Resilient: Thrives in fast-paced, high-stakes environments where everything moves in real-time and where uptime is critical to all aspects of the business.
· Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Business; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
