This Midwest facility is seeking a Plant Engineering Manager with solid team management experience and is ready to lead a talented engineering and maintenance team through continuous improvement and high?performance operations. This opening is due to an internal promotion — the best indicator of a thriving culture and real career growth. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll guide engineering strategy, champion preventive maintenance, support operational excellence, and oversee capital/project initiatives that shape the future of the site.
What You’ll Do as Engineering Manager:
- Lead a large team of direct reports & employees in the maintenance & engineering group
- Provide strategic leadership for engineering & maintenance across the plant
- Mentor and develop managers; build strong technical bench strength
- Drive preventive and predictive maintenance programs
- Lead and support capital projects, upgrades, and long?term engineering initiatives
- Support continuous improvement and lean/process optimization efforts
- Maintain operational reliability for spray dryers, evaporators, and other major process systems
- Partner closely with Operations, Quality, and Safety leaders to ensure a world?class manufacturing environment
- Participate in a rotational on?call schedule for escalations.
What We’re Looking for:
We’re flexible for the right leader — but here’s the ideal profile:
- Experience managing managers - NOT a first?time manager role
- At least 5 years’ experience in engineering & maintenance management in Food/Beverage Manufacturing
- Strong engineering leadership in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to lead teams, build trust, and create accountability
- Process improvement – Continuous Improvement
- Capital project execution.
