Browne Trading Company of Portland, Maine, a leading supplier of fine caviar, fresh fish, and smoked seafood to premier restaurants and home kitchens across the United States, is seeking a skilled and motivated Cutter/Packer to join our team.
This is a split role that provides hands-on experience in both our Cooler and Production Room.
In the Cooler, you will prepare fresh seafood for shipment by cutting, portioning, and processing products according to customer specifications. This includes tasks such as cutting, gutting, and filleting, while ensuring the highest quality and accuracy.
In the Production Room, you will be responsible for pulling inventory, packing products, and preparing orders for shipment nationwide.
This position offers a unique opportunity to gain experience across two departments while contributing to a collaborative and fast-paced work environment.
We operate Monday through Friday with no weekend or evening shifts required. Additionally, we provide a company lunch each month for all staff.

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cut various types of fish with precision and care.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with food safety standards.
- Assist with inventory management by tracking supplies and reporting shortages or discrepancies.
- Follow all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
- Continuously develop cutting techniques and stay informed on industry best practices.
- Pull inventory for customer orders and pack products for shipment across the United States.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Previous experience in food production, seafood processing, or a professional kitchen is preferred.
- Strong knife skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper handling procedures.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- Ability to perform efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards.
- A positive, team-oriented attitude with a willingness to support colleagues.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 37 – 45 per week
