We are seeking a Seafood Takeout Associate to join our team at Ferry Wharf Fish Market! The ideal candidate will have a passion for food service and providing exceptional customer service. You’ll be the friendly face behind the counter, handling takeout orders and cashiering while ensuring every guest has an excellent experience. Duties
- Package takeout orders accurately, ensuring all utensils, sauces, sides, and beverages are included
- Prepare beverages and drinks according to store standards while maintaining quality and efficiency
- Operate POS systems to process customer transactions accurately and efficiently
- Assist customers by answering questions about menu items, beverages, and store offerings while providing friendly customer service
- Handle cash and credit card payments while following proper cash handling procedures
- Ensure all takeout orders are organized, complete, and handed out promptly to maintain efficient service flow
- Maintain cleanliness of the takeout area, beverage station, counters, and packaging areas in compliance with sanitation standards
- Restock packaging supplies, beverages, condiments, utensils, and other front-of-house inventory as needed
- Support overall daily operations by helping maintain an organized, efficient, and customer-focused environment
Skills
- Previous customer service, cashier, retail, restaurant, café, or takeout experience preferred
- Familiarity with POS systems for transaction processing is a plus
- Strong attention to detail to ensure order accuracy and proper packaging of takeout items
- Ability to prepare beverages efficiently while maintaining consistency and quality
- Excellent communication and customer service skills with a positive and professional attitude
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment during busy periods
- Basic math and cash handling skills
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Knowledge of sanitation and cleanliness standards in a food service or retail environment
*Note: This is a front-of-house/takeout role focused on customer service, beverage preparation, and order packaging; no cooking or live seafood handling is required.
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
