Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Café Manager to oversee the daily operations of our café. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food service management and demonstrate exceptional leadership skills. This role requires a passion for providing outstanding customer service, managing staff, and ensuring the café runs smoothly and efficiently. The Café Manager will be responsible for maintaining high standards of food quality, safety, and cleanliness while fostering a positive work environment.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily café operations, including food preparation, cooking, and service.
- Manage inventory control and ensure proper stock levels are maintained.
- Utilize Toast POS system for efficient cash handling and order processing.
- Train, develop, and supervise staff to ensure high performance in customer service and food handling.
- Implement food safety protocols and maintain compliance with health regulations.
- Conduct interviews and assist in hiring new team members to build a strong workforce.
- Create staff schedules and manage shifts effectively to meet operational needs.
- Monitor budgetary goals and assist in financial planning for the café.
- Promote the restaurant through local community engagement, social media, and events to attract new customers. Marketing the Cafe is a critical factor.
- Ensure quality standards are met in food production, catering services, and bar operations.
Qualifications
- Be certified restaurant manager (ServSafe)
- Proven experience in restaurant management or café management with a focus on quick service or fast food environments.
- Strong culinary experience with knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen management.
- Familiarity with inventory control processes and cash handling procedures.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle guest inquiries effectively.
- Experience in training & development of staff to enhance their skills and performance.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in the food industry.
- Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate a team towards achieving common goals.
- Previous experience in fine dining or casual dining settings is preferred.
- Background in hospitality management is advantageous, along with banquet experience if applicable.
