The Production Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day supervision and leadership of food production operations and hourly employees. This role plans and assigns work, enforces policies and procedures, and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures, and working conditions. The supervisor is hands-on in food manufacturing and packaging processes while ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency standards are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations of the food processing and production area.
- Perform hands-on cutting, cleaning, preparation, and packaging of food products according to established specifications.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, and sanitation standards.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized production environment.
- Lead, train, and develop hourly employees to meet production schedules while adhering to safety, quality, and cost objectives.
- Oversee shift start-up and shutdown procedures.
- Coordinate efficient scheduling and timely production of all orders.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and leadership to support order fulfillment and operational goals.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in processes, equipment, and workflow.
