Duties

Performs food item checkout duties by operating a programmed cash register.
Courteously greets dining facility customers.
Prepares and sets up signs and price strips to display menu items and prices for the daily menu.
Sets up dining room for service.
Restock condiments, silverware, and other dining essentials to ensure smooth service operations.

This position is subject to a background investigation to determine your suitability for Federal employment.
This is a DOD Financial Management position. The incumbent must complete training and meet position requirements for certification at Level 1 within 2 years of appointment. Failure to obtain and maintain certification may result in adverse action.
This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays or special situations. Employee shifts are rotated on a regularly scheduled basis.
Position is designated as Inclement Weather Essential. The incumbent must make every attempt to report for work on time and/or remain on duty during severe weather conditions.
This position has been designated Mission Essential. In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations, the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
This position requires to wear any personal protective equipment as applicable to the necessary duties.
Lifting up to 30 pounds may be required.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the education/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. General Experience: Six months of general experience. General experience is progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled, such as, operating an electronic cash register, processing cash, and credit card transactions, and maintaining a clean and organized food service line.

OR

Education: One year of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.

OR

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 6. Then divide your semester hours of education by 30. Add the two percentages.
