Duties
- Prepare a variety of deli foods, including slicing meats, cheeses, and assembling sandwiches with precision and care
- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting shoppers with product selections, answering questions, and upselling items to enhance their experience
- Operate POS systems such as Clovis accurately for sales transactions, cash handling, and order processing
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the deli area, including food handling, sanitation practices, and proper storage of products
- Restock shelves, display cases, and ensure that all products are visually appealing and well-organized
- Assist with food safety compliance by following proper food handling procedures and adhering to health regulations
- Support other store functions such as bussing tables, cleaning workstations, and managing quick service or fast-food style operations
Requirements
- Previous experience in food preparation or food service environments such as cafés, restaurants, or grocery stores is highly preferred but not required
- Familiarity with POS systems like Clovis for efficient sales processing
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to upsell products confidently and courteously
- Good time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting
- Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math calculations, and inventory management
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling techniques
- Ability to stand for extended periods while performing duties effectively
- Culinary experience or restaurant background is a plus but not required; willingness to learn is essential
