Duties

Prepare a variety of deli foods, including slicing meats, cheeses, and assembling sandwiches with precision and care
Provide exceptional customer service by assisting shoppers with product selections, answering questions, and upselling items to enhance their experience
Operate POS systems such as Clovis accurately for sales transactions, cash handling, and order processing
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the deli area, including food handling, sanitation practices, and proper storage of products
Restock shelves, display cases, and ensure that all products are visually appealing and well-organized
Assist with food safety compliance by following proper food handling procedures and adhering to health regulations
Support other store functions such as bussing tables, cleaning workstations, and managing quick service or fast-food style operations

Requirements

Previous experience in food preparation or food service environments such as cafés, restaurants, or grocery stores is highly preferred but not required
Familiarity with POS systems like Clovis for efficient sales processing
Strong customer service skills with the ability to upsell products confidently and courteously
Good time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting
Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math calculations, and inventory management
Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling techniques
Ability to stand for extended periods while performing duties effectively
Culinary experience or restaurant background is a plus but not required; willingness to learn is essential
