Duties
- Provide expert wine recommendations and tastings, guiding guests through our extensive wine selection and pairing options
- Deliver attentive, friendly service by taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring guest satisfaction throughout their dining experience
- Assist with menu planning and suggest wine pairings that complement dishes, enhancing the overall culinary journey
- Maintain thorough knowledge of the restaurant’s food offerings, including catering and banquet menus, to support sales and upselling efforts
- Handle POS transactions accurately using Aloha POS or Micros POS systems, including cash handling and cashiering responsibilities
- Uphold food safety standards by practicing proper food handling, serving techniques, and sanitation procedures
- Contribute to a welcoming atmosphere by providing exceptional customer service, addressing guest inquiries promptly, and managing special requests with professionalism
Requirements
- Proven restaurant experience with a focus on fine dining or upscale food service environments
- Strong knowledge of wines, spirits, and beverage pairings; previous sommelier or culinary experience is highly desirable
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS for order processing and cash handling
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to upsell menu items confidently and effectively
- Experience in serving at banquets or catering events is a plus, demonstrating versatility in food service settings
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling techniques to ensure guest safety and satisfaction
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and professionalism
