Responsibilities
- Food Preparation: Prepare daily dishes according to anticipated sales, including special orders and event requirements.
- Precision and Speed: Execute tasks and recipes with precision and efficiency.
- Food Safety: Adhere to strict food safety practices, including First In, First Out (FIFO), to uphold our food quality and safety standards.
- Recipe Adherence: Follow prep worksheets and recipes meticulously when preparing both cold and hot food items.
- Knife Safety: Employ proper knife safety procedures in all kitchen activities.
- Equipment Mastery: Operate ovens and hot prep equipment, ensuring accurate temperature for all hot and cooked foods. Proficiency with food processors and other cold prep equipment is crucial.
- Maintaining Cleanliness: Maintain cleanliness throughout the kitchen, including prep tables, hot lines, coolers, prep sinks, floors, walk-in coolers, walls, and storage areas.
- Meat Processing: Handle meat processing, vacuum sealing, and operating sous vide machines as required.
- Station Organization: Set up and break down the oven station, maintaining an organized hot prep zone and equipment.
- Inventory Management: Facilitate communication between Service Team Members and Kitchen, managing inventory levels in front line areas, prep zones, ovens, and reach-ins.
- Menu Knowledge: Stay updated on our evolving salad menu and ingredients.
- Product Rotation: Receive orders, stock products, and rotate inventory to ensure freshness following FIFO principles.
- Cleaning Projects: Undertake daily and weekly cleaning projects as assigned.
Requirements/Desired Traits
- Experience: Prior experience in food, restaurant, or team-oriented roles is preferred.
- Physical Capability: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Food Safety Expertise: Knowledge of proper food safety handling practices.
- Adaptability: Comfort in a fast-paced kitchen environment with various food prep equipment.
