Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Kitchen Manager to oversee the daily operations of our kitchen in a fast-paced dining environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food service management, with expertise in both quick service and fine dining settings. This role requires exceptional leadership skills, a passion for culinary excellence, and the ability to manage a diverse team while ensuring high standards of food safety and quality. Be able to work as a team in a small open kitchen/bar environent.
Duties
- Manage all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing training and development to enhance their skills and performance.
- Oversee inventory control, ensuring proper stock levels and minimizing waste.
- Implement and maintain food safety standards in compliance with health regulations.
- Utilize POS systems (toast) for efficient order processing
- Collaborate with management on budgeting and cost control measures to optimize profitability.
- Conduct interviews and hire new kitchen staff as needed to maintain an effective team.
- Ensure exceptional customer service by maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation.
- Lead shift management activities to ensure smooth operations during peak hours.
Requirements
- Proven experience in kitchen management or a similar role within the food industry.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and food handling practices.
- Experience with inventory control systems and cash handling procedures.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
- Familiarity with restaurant management practices, including budgeting and financial oversight.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with staff and customers.
