Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival, providing a friendly and professional first impression.
- Present menus, answer questions about dishes, and offer recommendations to enhance the dining experience.
- Accurately take food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring special requests are noted.
- Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness.
- Upsell menu items and specials to maximize sales opportunities while respecting guest preferences.
- Manage multiple tables efficiently by prioritizing service needs and coordinating with kitchen staff for timely food preparation.
- Handle cash transactions accurately through cashiering systems, including cash handling and processing payments.
- Maintain knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation procedures, and proper food handling techniques to ensure guest safety.
- Assist with bussing tables, cleaning service areas, and resetting tables to promote a smooth flow of service.
- Provide exceptional guest relations by addressing questions or concerns promptly and courteously.
- Support the team during busy hours by assisting with food preparation or other restaurant duties as needed.
- Utilize reservation platforms like OpenTable to manage bookings effectively when applicable.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is highly preferred; fine dining or nightclub experience is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of POS systems such as Toast.
- Demonstrated ability in upselling, sales techniques, and delivering excellent customer service.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask efficiently during high-volume periods.
- Basic math skills for cash handling, billing accuracy, and transaction processing.
- Knowledge of food safety protocols, sanitation standards, and proper food handling procedures.
- Experience in food preparation, bussing, hosting/host duties, or kitchen support is beneficial.
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays in a fast-paced setting.
