We at Farm Country Butchery seek a Qualified person with a strong desire to succeed in the Meat industry or a Strong Desire to Learn and excel in this department.
The Meat Cutter possesses a high level of concentration and excellent hand-eye coordination to safely and skillfully cut and trim meat to exacting specifications and able to safely maintain and sharpen their tools as needed. They also possess a strong constitution to endure the physical challenges required by lifting and standing for long periods of time.
Meat Cutter Duties and Responsibilities
- Break down Bison, Beef, Pork, poultry, and other meat products into various cuts
- Prepare meat into forms ready for cooking using a variety of actions, including boning, tying, grinding, cutting and trimming
- Properly sanitize all equipment with disinfectant
- Follow all safety guidelines
Meat Cutter Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED certificate preferred
- Prior meat cutting experience or training strongly preferred
- Knife skills
- Basic math skills
- Knowledgeable about various cuts of meat and proper cooking techniques
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand for up to 10 hours
