Job Overview
The Hancock Market is seeking summer help (May-October) who is excited about food and community to work in our small grocery. This is a dynamic, customer-facing role which involves working in the deli making sandwiches to order, assisting customers with meat counter purchases, stocking the shelves and keeping the store looking its best.

Experience in grocery, retail or food service is preferred, but we are happy to train an enthusiastic candidate. Applicant must be 18+ due to state laws regarding selling of alcohol and operation of deli equipment.
Schedule requires weekend and weekday availability, daytime hours only.
Duties
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the deli area, adhering to food safety standards.
- Package deli products for display and sale, ensuring proper labeling and presentation.
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions and assisting customers with their selections.
- Support inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting any shortages or discrepancies.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient use and processing of product.
- Taking orders and preparing sandwiches according to the standards of our business
- Slicing, weighing and portioning deli meats and cheeses
- Occasional operation of the register and money handling
Skills
- Strong customer service skills to enhance the shopping experience for customers.
- Experience in food handling and safety protocols within the food industry.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational skills to maintain an orderly workspace.

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 24.0 – 32.0 per week
