Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Kitchen Manager to oversee daily kitchen operations and help adapt and create new menus to fit the space. Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate all kitchen activities, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure high standards of quality and consistency
- Manage inventory control by monitoring stock levels, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste to optimize food costs
- Oversee the implementation of food safety protocols and maintain compliance with health regulations to ensure a safe dining experience
- Lead staff training and development initiatives, including interviewing, onboarding, and ongoing coaching to build a skilled and motivated team
- Utilize POS systems such as TOAST POS for order processing, cash handling, and sales reconciliation
- Manage shift schedules, assign tasks effectively, and ensure smooth operations during busy hours in quick service or fine dining environments
- Collaborate with management on budgeting, menu planning, and promotional activities to enhance customer satisfaction and business growth
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen management within a fast-paced restaurant or hospitality setting
- Strong supervisory skills with demonstrated success in team management, training & development, and staff supervision
- Knowledge of POS systems, we use TOAST
- Familiarity with inventory control techniques and food safety standards required by local health authorities
- Previous experience in managing restaurant operations such as shift management, budgeting, and food production in casual dining or catering environments
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle guest inquiries professionally
- Culinary experience complemented by hospitality management knowledge; fine dining or banquet experience is a plus
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
