Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Butcher to join our USDA certified meat processing facility. This role involves preparing, packaging, and handling food products with a focus on quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of meat cutting experience with an emphasis on food safety standards. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where culinary skills and attention to detail are highly valued.
Responsibilities
- Prepare food items according to established recipes and standards, ensuring consistency and quality
- Handle food safely and maintain proper hygiene practices during all stages of food preparation and packaging
- Operate equipment efficiently, including knives for meat cutting and other food prep tools
- Assist with inventory management, including stock rotation
- Maintain cleanliness of the work area, adhering to food safety regulations at all times
Skills
- Experience in meat cutting, especially beef, lamb, and pork
- Strong knife skills and understanding of meat cutting techniques
- Respect for food safety standards and proper handling procedures
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced setting
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team
