Position Summary
GCIngredients is seeking an experienced National Sales Manager to accelerate commercial growth for our Spices & Seasonings Division. This role will drive new business development, manage key accounts, and collaborate closely with R&D, Procurement, and Operations to deliver differentiated seasoning solutions to B2B partners.
Ideal candidates bring a strong network within the spice blends, seasonings, or food ingredients market, plus the ability to communicate both culinary value and technical formulation benefits with confidence.
This role reports directly to the Director of R&D and the Vice President.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy & Market Growth
- Lead national sales efforts across small-, mid-tier-, and CPG-level manufacturers
- Represent the division’s technical and culinary capabilities to prospective clients
- Identify and develop opportunities for:
- Custom seasoning blends
- Reformulations & optimization projects
- Health-forward or clean-label flavor systems
- Multi-component solutions (snack seasonings, marinades, sauces, etc.)
- Drive revenue growth through strategic account management and targeted prospecting
- Collaborate with leadership to align commercial strategy with production capabilities and market trends
Customer Engagement & Account Management
- Conduct customer presentations, capability discussions, and product demonstrations
- Work closely with customer R&D, procurement, and commercial teams
- Support technical briefings and sampling initiatives with internal R&D partners
- Shepherd projects from opportunity → sample development → feedback → scale-up → commercialization
- Maintain accurate forecasting, CRM activity, and customer communication records
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with the Director of R&D to develop customer-driven prototypes and solutions
- Work with Procurement to ensure ingredient availability, pricing stability, and sourcing alignment
- Coordinate with QA, production, and logistics to deliver seamless customer experiences
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Food Science, or related field
- 5–7 years of B2B sales experience in:
- Spice blends / seasonings
- Food ingredients
- Flavor systems or related industrial food sectors
- Demonstrated success managing accounts at various organizational levels (small, mid-tier, and CPG)
- Strong understanding of B2B food manufacturing, formulation workflows, and commercialization
- Ability to travel nationally for customer meetings, plant visits, and trade shows
Preferred
- Established network in the spice blends, seasoning, or ingredient industry
- Experience selling into R&D, procurement, and C-suite contacts
- Familiarity with FSMA/FDA expectations, supply chain considerations, and ingredient costing
