Senior Superintendent – Design-Build EPC Construction – Food Processing Facilities
Location: Midwest-based with regional travel
Summary
Our client is a privately held, financially strong, and fast-growing EPC firm delivering design-build projects for food processing, food and beverage, manufacturing, and light industrial facilities across the Midwest. We are seeking a Senior Superintendent to serve as a key leader in the field, driving project delivery, operational excellence, and the development of future field leaders.
This role provides an exciting opportunity to influence field operations and build large-scale, MEP-intensive industrial facilities while mentoring emerging superintendents and shaping construction standards across the company. Operating from a central Midwest location with regional travel, this role is ideal for an experienced builder ready to lead in a high-growth environment.

Responsibilities
- Lead field operations for complex EPC design-build projects in food-grade and light industrial environments.
- Ensure adherence to schedule, budget, safety, and quality standards from preconstruction through turnover.
- Serve as the senior field authority on MEP systems, with specific experience in process piping, critical temperature environments, industrial ventilation, and food-grade systems.
- Collaborate with project managers, designers, and subcontractors to ensure seamless project execution.
- Mentor site foremen, tradespeople, and field engineers to build strong, high-performing site teams.
- Support project planning, sequencing, logistics, and field staffing decisions.
- Help shape company-wide field operations processes and best practices.
Requirements
- 10+ years of progressive field leadership experience on large-scale industrial or commercial projects.
- Proven track record of delivering multi-million-dollar design-build or EPC projects involving MEP-intensive systems.
- Solid builder background with broad trade knowledge and structural construction experience.
- Strong leadership and communication skills capable of influencing across field and executive levels.
- Skilled at identifying and resolving labor productivity issues.
- Passion for maintaining a proactive, zero-incident safety culture.
- Relevant construction education, professional training, and OSHA certifications.
